Ingredients For Varicha Bhaat:
250 gms Vari Tandool (Vari Rice Grains)
1 tbsp Ghee
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
2 Cups Water
Salt to taste
Ingredients For Shengdana Amti:
For Masala Paste
1 Cup Grated Fresh Coconut
4 tbsp Peanut Powder
2 Green chillies
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
Water
For Tadka
1 tsp Ghee
1/4th tsp Cumin Seeds
3 tbsp Peanut Powder
Salt to taste
Water
Method:
To make the Varicha Bhaat
– In a pan heat some ghee.
– Add cumin seeds. Once they start spluttering add the rice grains. Mix well.
– Add enough water and salt. Give a stir.
– Cover it with a lid and let the rice cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
– Varicha Bhaat is ready.
To make the Shengdana Amti
– In a mixer grinder add fresh coconut, peanut powder, green chillies, cumin seeds and little water. Grind everything to a smooth paste. Keep this masala paste aside.
– In a pan heat some ghee.
– Add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
– Then add the masala paste. Mix well.
– Add peanut powder, salt and water. Mix everything well.
– Let it come to a boil.
– Shengdana Amti is ready.
