Ingredients –
1/4 Cup Yellow moongdal soaked for 4 hours
1/4 Cup Chana dal soaked for 4 hours
For khatta pani –
1/4 Cup Tamarind soaked for one hour
1/4 Cup Jaggery
1 tsp salt
1tsp black salt
1 tbsp chaat masala
1/2 tsp Red chili powder
1 tsp roasted cumin powder
1/4 cup julienne Beetroot
1/4 Cup julienne carrots
1/4 thinly sliced onions
Fresh coriander
1 lemon juice
Method –
Sive tamarind and take out the pulp from tamatarind, transfer in big mixing bowl. Add 2 glasses of chilled water.
Add jaggery, and all spices, add carrots, beetroot, onions, fresh coriander in water. You can adjust the spices according your taste buds. Keep in fridge.
Remove water from soaked dals, add in a mixer jar and make a fine paste, add water if needed.
Now transfer dal paste in a bowl and beat with hands for 5-7 minutes.
Make medium size balls with paste and deep fry in medium hot oil. Take them out.
Now dip all the dal pakodas in chilled flavoured water. Keep in fridge for 30 minutes and enjoy Amritsar famous khatte laddu.
